Sales Engineer

 

Pick Heaters is seeking a highly qualified individual to serve as a sales engineer to provide technical support to their independent manufacturers’ reps and customers.
 

  • Provide technical factory support to sales representatives including travel in the field within the United States and Canada. 
  • Monitor and manage rep performance against assigned quota and take corrective action when necessary.
  • Where required work directly with the customer to define and determine the technical design requirements to satisfy the application.
  • Prepare quotations requiring review of detailed RFQ’s and bid packages.  Ensure the quotation satisfies all technical specs, documentation requirements, and procedures.  Perform cost estimates and technical review including any exceptions or alternatives.  
  • Design and perform costing for highly engineered packaged systems for both DSI (direct steam injection) and PCD (Pick Custom Designed/non-DSI) applications. 
  • Work closely with suppliers and vendors in the design and quoting stage on the specification and procurement of components for systems.  
  • Work with the Engineering Department on systems or custom heater designs during and after the quoting stage, to ensure project specifications meet final design requirements.  
  • Work with Engineering and Manufacturing to manage major projects as they progress to ensure it meets the fabrication and delivery requirements.
  • Oversee and/or prepare vendor documentation and submittals (approvals) for projects. 
  • Provide field assistance for equipment start-up as required.  
     

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of fluid mechanics and heat transfer.  Experience or understanding of the application and use of heat transfer equipment, process instrumentation, pumping systems and control valves would be a major plus.
